YA Book Release

Jennifer J. Lacelle

Sept 3, 2022

Gut-wrenching, heartbreaking and a tale of strength...

YA Author, Jennifer J. Lacelle, launched her second novel on June 25, 2022. The book takes place in Thunder Bay, Ontario and follows a young protagonist in search of answers! Katima Miracle's father dies suspiciously and she's determined to know what happened. Katima goes to Birdwhistle Estate and digs into the truth only to find herself caught between two magical societies that want something from her, Boudicca - the ancient Iceni druidess living within Katima's body. The story features places in and around Thunder Bay and includes some Canadian First Nations and Chinese history. Any character resemblance to people living or deceased is strictly coincidently. However, Jennifer believes there's so much beauty to be had in heritage that it's important to represent and share. In example, Empress Wendeshunsheng was a real person (15 March 601 – 28 July 636) and highly respected. Mount McKay (Ontario) also has historical importance to the First Nations Peoples and is reportedly still used for sacred ceremonies.

"Representation matters," Jennifer says. Her belief is that all people deserve to be recognized wholeheartedly.

This is Jennifer's second YA novel. Her first (Destiny) was released in March 2021. They can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, IngramSpark, Coles in North Bay, Bearly Used Books in Parry Sound, Coles in Barrie, Chapters in Sudbury, Bay Used Book in Sudbury, Changes Hair Studio in Sudbury, and Right Brain Child in North Bay.
